Be Stitched Baking {Almond Butter}

This almond butter is delicious slathered on a piece of flax seed bread (I like Alvarado Street Bakery’s) or a sliced Jazz apple (in my opinion, the best apple out there).  This recipe is simple and quick!

{Almond Butter}

3 c raw whole almonds

1 T local honey (optional)

1 T ground flax seed (optional)

1 t salt (optional)

1 t cinnamon (optional)


Spread the almonds out in an even layer on a cookie sheet.  Roast at 350 degrees for 15 minutes, stirring twice.

Allow the almonds to cool completely, about 20 mintutes.  Add to food processor.

Now you just start processing.  For 10-15 minutes.  First you get something like crushed almonds.  You can add the flax see here.

…then wet sand…

…after about 8 minutes it looks like a ball of pizza dough…I was quite skeptical…keep going…

…and you will see almond butter!  This was after about 10-12 minutes.  Add your honey and salt, and stir to combine.

Add to a jar, and keep in a cool dark place or in the fridge.

I made a dent in it immediately tasting it myself and setting some aside for a coworker.  Yum.
